For a brand to launch three months before a global pandemic and not only come out the other side relatively unscathed, but with a loyal following of over ,ooo customers and be profitable, is nothing short of remarkable. Enter, Saint and Sofia , the London-based brand that did just that. We caught up with founders, who also happen to be husband and wife not to mention utter couple goals , to find out how they built and continue to grow the fashion brand with a conscience. You both worked in finance before entering the world of fashion. Tell us about how you made the transition. In the financial crisis hit and we both became unhappy. In early we started working on our first entrepreneurial venture, an activewear brand called Zaggora. It was hugely successful, gaining lots of press and Harvard Business School even did a case study on us, but we decided in that we wanted to start something new and that was Saint and Sofia.

Modern life is a balancing act: for proof just look at how we dress today. Not only do women want clothes that are stylish and versatile, but increasingly important too are longevity, quality, sustainable and ethical manufacturing and low-impact packaging. Saint and Sofia does things differently, creating wearable design-led pieces backed by Fairtrade and sustainable production at a price to rival the great British high street. A focus on fit sizes range from UK 6 to 22, many trousers come in three lengths and the feel of fabrics is achieved through the use of modern technology and good old-fashioned experience. No wonder then that Saint and Sofia is increasingly popular with those in the know. Culture Whisper is your curated guide to the best of London.
